Extremely important to keep ur dog alive
I love how much this collar allows me to see if or when my dog moves and what kind of movement he does. Keeps track of where he has gone as well. If I can't keep track of him and he gets lost, I always find him! I love how it keeps asking if the location lines are true or not when we do walk outside of the boundary lines.

Very accurate
This is the best tracker that you can buy. Battery last long and it tells me when it needs charging. It's well worth the money

Much improved over series 2
We had three series 2 fi collars for a few years. Generally had been quite happy with them and the features/price until two of the collars started to come undone while walking the our dogs. One deteriorated to the point it came loose 4 times on one walk at which point I removed the collars and.sropped using them completely. The problem is that the fi receiver fits in line with the collar so if the attachment comes.loose the collar is no.longer connected, and the dog is now without a leash and without a gps tracker. I found companies that created a pouch or other holder for the gps , that would fit around a normal collar. This meant the gps receive is no.longer a critical link. With that in mind I decided to try upgrading to a fi3 series collar. Initially I was going to upgrade my subscription with a credit , but it actually turned out cheaper and quicker to.get the collar from Amazon. The new collar arrived today , nicely packed and ready to go. Setup of the base and collar weren't too difficult. I did find it went better if you didn't put the collar on the base during setup until prompted later. Also, it took a while to connect to my wifi properly. Be patient and it eventually sorts itself out. Have yet to try the tracking outside my safe zone but two things I like already. The attachments to the gps receiver are metal not plastic, and there is a magnetic door that holds things shut. Feels must more robust , and harder to come apart accidentally. Instead of popping out vertically it has to slide out horizontally before it comes loose. I am a little more.comfortable with this design and may skip using the pouches that I planned to. Secondly the led is a little more active and makes itself a little easier to spot due to the motion, not just the pulsing led. Hoping the gps tracking works well when I go on a walk tomorrow. Seems to find the house ok. Curiously it did record 430 steps just setting up and holding the collar. I'm claiming those steps and eating a donut to compensate. :) One thing that surprised me. The blue collar has a pattern on one side and is plain on the other. For some reason the pattern is on the inside when worn and there appears to be no way to flip it over. Indeed the photos on first website show the same, so it appears deliberate. I would jave thought the pattern would look decent showing outwards but maybe that's just me.

Inaccurate GPS; not reliable for rural areas.
I’ve been exceedingly hopeful about this product for a long time now. When it connects to GPS, it’s helpful for at least getting you in a general range. It does not accurately let you know when your pet has left the safe zone at all. It also does not pinpoint your dog’s location on GPS; it only shows a general location, so you could be 500 to 1000 feet apart, which is a very big distance if you’re in a forest or field without a clear line of sight. It can take 45 minutes to get a notification that your dog has left the safe zone, depending on when it picks it up on GPS. The battery does last a while, but nowhere near the three-month claim. It is sturdy and it does stay on, however. The point of the light I don’t quite understand because it’s not bright enough if you’re looking for them at night. I think it’s just a fancy added feature. The subscription part, where you can see all of the steps that they take, is not really a bonus, the way I purchased it. It was part of a package deal, so I’m not sure if I have to keep it yet. I certainly don’t plan to because it won’t be worth the money for what I’ve gotten out of the product. If you’re looking for something that is going to immediately tell you when the dog leaves, give you a small area, as in less than a third of an acre for a safe zone, and pick up GPS signals in rural areas, you’re going to need to spend a lot more money or find a better product that I may not have found. This is not meant for rural areas or anywhere that has gaps in GPS. You’ll just be hunting for your dog for hours, walking in circles, playing chase, hoping this thing actually leads you somewhere.

If you dog is less than 40 lbs, consider the Mini…
I like the collar and tracker. The step counter is an effective tool for getting me to walk my buddy religiously. We now aim for an ambitious target and she is very enthusiastic about our long walks. (I am happy for her — and have already dropped a few pounds, myself.) So… gamification of walking is very positive. Accuracy of tracker is OK. The GPS feature shows individual walks, but the accuracy is good to only a few hundred feet. I’m a little worried about how effective my search attempt would be if my buddy runs off. So… accuarcy is OK. Sizing is a little limited. I probably would opt for the “Mini” next time. My buddy is 35lbs and the one-size-fits-all collar is too wide. That suggests that I should take it off inside the house, but then she might accidentally be let out without it. So… sizing is too likited.
